The 60th Post Goes a Little Like This

This is my 60th post.

Very few people have read the past 59, but I like coming here once in a while and writing a little bit of nothing and a little bit of something.  I decided to update my VampireFreaks profile earlier and I thought I'd share a few of the things that I added.

My likes are as follows -

Books - of all sorts and styles
Music - everything and anything will be played on my ipod.
Fancy dress!
Badges/Stickers
Cool socks
Hats
Shoes
Sleeping
Chatting
Purple
I love colouring (yes I'm 21)

I like people that I can have a conversation with. People who can start a conversation appropriately e.g. Hello, how are you? Not someone who feels the need to tell me right off the bat that they want to hook up/ broke up recently/ need to see a doctor because they are depressed.  If you need to tell me any of that, at least wait until we've been taking for a while.

I like people with a sense of humour. I'm a very sarcastic person, so sometimes, if I offend, I don't mean it. I just have a very dry sense of humour. I like people who don't need to point out how 'different' they are. It's safe to say that if you're on VF, you consider yourself a little different to everyone else

My dislikes are -
Not being able to do my make up well
Pigeons
Bad tv versions of good books
Bad breath
People who talk for the sake of it
People who can't seem to speak proper English - innit?

Don't tell me your problems unless I know you well enough to care (even then it's risky)

Don't tell me that I can't have country, pop, and metal on my ipod. It's my ipod, leave me be. Don't try to tell me that a band/song I like sucks just because you're too 'alternative' to let people like what they like.

If I want to liten to The Vengaboys and then Killswitch Engage, I damn well will.

Most of the new 'dislikes' came from an internet encounter with a randomer, who decided to try and get me to add him on Skype.
He's opening gambit? 'Heya, how r u? I hope your keeping well :-) I was wondering whether I could be able to add u on Skype, so I can show u myself on there, since I don't trust showing pictures of myself on this website ever, since there are some rather cruel people who could copy and paste pics and be rather abusive etc... so for that reason could you please provide me with your Skype and I hope u don't mind and that you understand >.< and I promise u I am genuinely a nice person and harmless and trustworthy, I swear on my mums life >.< By the way I am naturally tanned,I am a dancer from London and I like to work out a bit, I am a sportsmen too and I’m also doing a degree >.< p.s. we would honestly get on well! :3 tc x'

I have a few issues with that.
1 - 'so I can show u myself on there' YOU SOUND LIKE A PERVY MERV!
2 - 'a nice person and harmless and trustworthy, I swear on my mums life' - PERVY MERV ALERT
3 - leave you're wee mum out of this.

All the thoughts!!

Been thinking about relationships and break ups again.
Has anyone ever thought about how easy it is for the person who ended things to move on?
They knew it was coming, while the other person had no idea.

They knew that the feelings they once had, have now stopped and have started to move on.
The other person thinks things were fine and now spends a lot of their time wondering about why the other person stopped having their feelings. And thinking about if there were any signs or subtle hints that could have alerted them to the fact that their partner was slowly leaving them.

And then you have to deal with whether or not you're going to be friends afterwards. And if you are, how does that work? If you still have feelings for them, even if you don't, how friendly are you with them? If things ended okay between both of you, how do you know when friendly is friendly or when it's trying to tell you something else? How do you know if the friendly s actually flirting, or have you just been hoping that the friendly is flirting and things are going to go back to how they were?

What if you do the unthinkable and mistake the friendly for flirting and say something about it? And then you have that awkward conversation where you have to talk about how much you care about each other but they still feel that splitting up was the best things, and it feels like you broke up all over again.

Jesus, there's a lot in my brain

My face has never been so wet

Last night I had the mother of all crying fits. I was trying to get to sleep around 3am and I'd stuck my headphones on because I just wasn't drifting off.

Then all of a sudden, I decided that I didn't want to be a teacher anymore. I sat up, I took a deep breath and then FUCK! I started crying, and crying, and then a little more. Til I could barely breath.

I jumped onto my laptop and spoke to my brother, all the while I was reenacting the scene from Alice in Wonderland where she floods the place with tears. I admitted to my brother and myself that I wasn't sure if I was going to be a good teacher, and better yet, I didn't know if I was able to finish my final year.

CRY CRY CRY CRY CRY CRY - for a good bloody hour too.
And I couldn't stop at all. My brother talked me to a little bit, convinced me not to make any decisions that I'd regret in the morning and to try and get some sleep. I climbed into bed, sent an email to my lecturer telling her I need a chat and tried to sleep.

Even when lying down and trying to sleep, I still bloody cried. 6am and I finally dozed off.

Spoke to my mother today and told her what I was feeling. Realised that I might just be panicking about my final year and all the fun stuff that comes with it. Still gonna have that chat with my tutor

Remember that time when...

Remember that time when it snowed really bad a couple of weeks before Christmas? And we got let out of school early because we lived in the middle of nowhere and the staff were worried we wouldn't be able to get home? Then you rang your mum to say you were driving back and she told you that there was no way you'd make up the mountain in your little car, because he big car barely made it. So you drove our friends home after being told you had to get their parents permission to be in the car. Then we drove back to my house, and you stayed with me for 5 days or so.

And the snow was brand new and no one had mushed it all up yet.
And we tried to build a snowman.
And I fell over because I was wearing those weird plastic shoes my mum had.
And we drank tea and then went outside.
And it was magical?

I remember that time. I remember how it was a brilliant week, it was bloody freezing but that just meant that we hugged more

That time when #1

That time before we were going out and we were in the play park with all our friends.
I was playing on the swing and decided to jump off, landed in a big heap on the floor giggling and you were the one who came to see if I as okay. You ran to the shop to get some sticky plasters for my knee and all I could do was giggle because I kept picturing me falling in slow motion and how funny it must have looked to everyone else. Then I smiled a lot because you helped me.

You even bought wet wipes to clean my hands and knees to get the dirt out of them, then you let me lean on you so I could stand up.

That time when...

Autumn time sadness

After 3 years and 4 months, I broke up with my boyfriend. When I say I broke up with him, I mean we broke up. I'm still not sure who did the breaking but it broke. Anyway, I was fine when it happened, cried a little, but  kinda saw it coming so I wasn't too bad. Now however, I get sad at the drop of a hat.

By the way, this isn't supposed to be a 'poor me, listen to what makes me sad' post so you can read on without being sick or wanting to hit me.

I didn't realise quite how much of my life I had connected to my relationship, there has been so much in fact, that I regularly get slapped by small things in my day to day tedium that make me go 'oh yeah, i used to have a boyfriend'. For example, the password for my phone was the date we started seeing each other - i failed to notice this until today (its has been changed), I also didn't notice how much I talk about him - almost every conversation I have involves me connecting what we're talking about to him and every other song that I hear makes me think of a time when we sang it in his car or when we sent it to each other just to say it was really good.

But that stops now! Now I am strong independent black woman! (this is a joke)
Now I can do what I like, when I like. I don't need to worry about not talking for 2 days in case someone gets angry because I don't have to talk to him! We're trying the 'let's be friends' thing at the minute and I do find it odd not talking every day, because quite simply he was my best friend. But it's too goddamn weird to talk to him about having a bad day because the way he used to fix it was to be a complete twat with me and make me laugh -  that just doesn't work these days.

I'm not sure why it's taken over a week for me to start to feel sad and to notice all the things in my life that are linked to the relationship and everything that's going to have to change, but it sure is horrible. God knows what'll happen next, but I hope it isn't as confusing as all this!

Men are nuts, woman are crazy.

The Return Rant

It's been blimming ages since I've written anything and to be quite honest with you there isn't much to update you on.

I've started my final year of uni and at the end of this year (god willing) I'll be a qualified teacher with a decent degree behind me and I'll be forced to pretend to be an adult for the majority of the rest of my life - not looking forward to this.

I've moved back into halls again this year and have become a subwarden, basically, I get to switch the alarm off and deliver post to people who are too lazy to come down and get it themselves.

The biggest update about me is the fact that I've lost at last a stone since June 2013. I'm very proud of myself and hopefully I'll keep going. I fall off the shelf(?) every now and then but I do climb back up and start again. I've been trying to convince people to do more with me, but, as I've found out, people are useless and just want to sleep most of the time.

Anyway, the reason I've come back to my little blog is to have an almighty rant. It's safe to do it here because I know no one will read the damn thing. My rant will begin... NOW

Today, I hate people. I hate people who ask stupid questions, I hate people who feel the need to tell me all about their lives, even when it was the same as last week, I can't stand people who don't answer their phone when I need them, I hate people who think they have some sort of power over a group simply because they might be the oldest or because they know a little but more than everyone else, I hate people who feel the need to reiterate someone else has just said, especially when I WAS THERE TO HEAR IT IN THE FIRST PLACE and I hate people who smell funny even when they clean themselves - why do you still smell? Why? Someone please explain this to me.

I also hate lazy people, not people who can't be bothered to pause the tv to take their dish back to the sink, but those people who need a nap between going to the shop and making their dinner. How can you possibly need a nap? You've been awake 3 hours and been outside for 10 minutes.

I also hate the fact that I've had a headache for the past 4 days and nothing i do will get rid of it. NOTHING. In fact, the fact I have a headache is probably why all these things are annoying me so much right now. All I really want to do, is go home and get my mum to make a cuppa and have a chat with her, then she can laugh at me because I said something wrong.  I want to curl into a ball and leave the world behind. In fact, after this I'm very likely to make a fort out of my bed and hide inside until everyone stops being a dick.

I'm also ridiculously sad at the minute and nothing is cheering me up. So if anyone has some magic remedy it would be greatly appreciated.  I am angry at the world and it's done nothing wrong. I'm also strangely jealous of everyone else's room in halls. They all have shitloads of cool nic nacs that make the room theirs and all I have is a load of pictures that make me want to go home before the week is out. In fact, if I had more money, I'd be on a plane home at the end of the week and everything would be awesome!

Now that I've written this, I'm not sure if I'm angry with everyone else, or just scarily lonely? Possibly both and neither. Just bored. Anyway, I'm off!

Crazy Kitchens

Living in halls you expect some food stealing, a little mess and maybe even a little animosity between some people. But you don't want to think about the things that I'll talk about now happening to people you live with, even worse, you don' want to think that someone you live with would do shit like this.

I have to share my kitchen with 13 other girls. That's 3 cookers and 3 freezers for 13 people, so things aren't expected to run smoothly. You should expect that there are going to be times when there isn't enough room in the freezer for your stuff and there isn't a free oven for you to make dinner so you'll just have to wait a while bitch. But I sincerely hope that no one moves into halls expecting really horrible shit to happen. Our kitchen seems to be the set for some weird ass poltergeist movie involving some female students and their food.

I'd like to take this chance to say that all of the girls who are supposed to use my kitchen are very nice, everyone has their good and their bad. But under no circumstances did I ever think any of the girls would be capable of the crazy ass shit we've had going on.

There's not much point in talking about the food stealing, except to say, 'WHY DO YOU NEED AN ENTIRE FROZEN LOAF OF BREAD AND A PACK OF RIBS?' The food stealing is expected, and until someone takes something of mine that made a big dent in my wallet, I shall remain impartial to the food thieves.

BUT, and it's a big but. Kinda like this one...

DAYUMMMM!
I do find it slightly disgusting when people's property gets taken and ruined. I'll give you a little list of some of the shit that we've had happen so far.

  1. Phone stolen, smashed to pieces and SIM card cut. Phone returned
  2. Salt poured into sugar bag.
  3. Another phone stolen - still not returned
  4. Rude messages pinned to the notice board
  5. Oven temperature turned up while cooking dinner - food ruined
BITCHES NEED TO STOP BEING BITCHES! I know there can be a little 'tit for tat' going on in halls - you use my milk I'm going to use you tea bags - but seriously? Stealing phones and ruining food on purpose? Someone needs to grow up. And fast

Bitches be crazy

The End Is Near.... Or Is It?

I dunno why I continue to write this blog. I know I haven't been very consistent in the past few months, but that comes down to the fact that I have 7 followers, most of whom probably don't even use Blogger anymore. Which brings me back to my original point. Why should I keep writing if no one is going to read it?

I don't really have any direction when I write my blogs, it's just a way for me to get all the little squiggly thoughts out of my head whenever they seem to have gotten too big. Everyone needs someone/somewhere to rant, and since no one really appreciates my rants, I guess the internet will have to deal with them.

I been in uni for a month now and it is THE biggest waste of time I've ever had the misfortune to endure. How in hell is 12 hours a week sufficient for a 2nd year teaching student? I know people on beauty courses who spend more time in class than I do. The only positive thing about spending so little time in class is the fact that it means I have to spend less time with the idiots who call themselves my classmates. I am a seriously mystified by some of them. I often wonder how they've managed to get up, get dressed and get into uni without being kidnapped or falling down a hole. I have grown women in my class who ask the same question repeatedly and constantly seek reassurance from our tutors about their parenting skills. Just because their qualified to teach, doesn't mean they are the font of all knowledge in regards to children.

The students might be thick, but it's nothing compared to the way that we get taught. You would expect tutors who've had experience in teaching children from the ages of 3+ would be able to deal with some 19/20 year olds using their phones in class. But no, they can't. They just mention that it's rude and let them get on with it. Also, sticking a powerpoint on screen and simply reading it word for word does not constitute a lecture. It's boring, and teaches us nothing at all. Stop wasting my time and give me something to do!

If none of you see of hear from me for a while, it's because I've built a fort and retreated into it with a book, some tea and possibly vodka.

Halls Take 2

2nd year of uni is a go! So that means that 2nd year of halls is a go.

You'd think that since this is my 2nd year in halls I'd be used to all the crap that goes on and all the different people coming and going. But I'm not, I'm still as awkward and odd as I was last year.

As with everything, these halls have good and bad points.

The Good

  1. A huge common room with a TV, pool table and ping pong table.
  2. My room is at the end of the corridor where no one can bother me :)
  3. It's far closer to Uni than Robbins was
The Bad
  1. Everyone, and I mean everyone is terribly naive.
  2. We're still in the stage where everyone's being nice to everyone else
  3. The rent is aspensive!!
  4. I'm on a floor filled with girls :(
  5. There are already 2 separate groups forming and I am a part of neither!
  6. Ajm isn't here with me :(
Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.

Who Knows The Most About The Guest Post(er)

Since I somewhat erratically made it to 50 posts, I fell into the old trap of finding someone else to write it for me. In this case, the big bro. I think he delves into some tips about back packing - which can also be useful for students too, especially considering that students are almost the same as back packers. :D  Anyway. He wrote this for me aggggges ago, so I'm going to assume that some of the details he's put in here are going to be very different to what they should be. You don't need to know how they've changed, just accept that they have :D

Well my blog is all but abandoned, decomposing at the bottom of the literary sea bed. I guess I've changed the world enough with my spectacular insights and gave it perhaps its greatest gift...This blog confused_rev

Rachel guest posted for me and I have been asked to return the favour, I suppose I can come out of retirement for one more round.

What to talk about, mmm....

I know! the global financial crisis is great detail... gotcha!

I'm Rachels big brother, am backpacking in Australia with my girlfriend Kylie, learning, experiencing and doing!

So how about a few tips into backpacking? to be fair most of these can be applied to you student folk as well.

- Buy own brand. 90% of supermarkets own brand stuff is actually made by the big brand companies, because they buy and sell in huge quantites they can sell at reduced costs.

- Use self serve tills. Lets face it most of your diet consists of Macca's, KFC and the like but every so often your body will crave fruit and vegtables (it's true) but that shit is exspensive. So what you do is choose the items you want and go through a self serve where you have to weigh things yourself, wait till the helper lady ain't looking and bang everything under carrots.

- Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If someone hands you a half used jar of peanut butter you damn well better take it and don't be shy if there is a free food shelf too. Early bird gets the worm. (Ahh, metaphors) Connected to this is the reduced section at the markets.

- Make friends, chat to that hippy looking dude, they usually have better stories. Don't be overly friendly though you might end up in a cult who worship the almighty Banana. It's a fine line but tread it anyway.

- Money ain't the end all and be all. Splash out once in a while. Take your girlfriend to the Ripleys Believe It or Not Odditorium even though it freaked the be'jesus out you.

- Do something every once in a while that takes you out of your comfort zone. "Me?, look after 10+ horses for 3 months. They'll be dead in 3 days ya eejit" but you know what they didn't.

There you have it, a guest post. Not too painful was it?

Who knows I might write book someday with all this material in it, it probably wont be as popular as 50 Shades of Grey but to be fair there will be no anal training in my book.

See ya!

Ruh Roh :(

Sincere apologies to all of my avid followers (read no one). It's been just over a month since I've posted anything on here. I guess it's the one area that's been neglected while I'm at uni.

Just on the off chance that any of you are interested in what's been happening in the past month, I'll give you a real quick run down.

  1. Finished and passed placement at uni. This means I pretty much passed first year.
  2. Wrote and handed in all my essays and got my results back. Have a couple of resits to do.
  3. Officially moved out of my halls and into Alex's
  4. Moved out of Alex's halls and into his aunt and uncle's house.
  5. Went on a seriously irritating job hunt.
  6. Got treated to a VIP day at Waddington Air Show.
  7. Continued job hunt.
  8. Found no job.
So, there you have it. Nothing worth going into detail about. The one thing I will like to talk about is the Great Postcard Campaign! It's finally my turn to send out postcards to everyone. J.Day over at The Ramblings of Charlie Brown sent me the list out and I have around 13 postcards to find and send out. If anyone on the postcard list is a follower of my blog, I'll let you know now, I'm trying to find the perfect postcards for everyone. If this takes me a little while longer than I hoped, I am sorry. I will hopefully have them all sent to you so they get delivered before the end of the month. :) I'm super excited about it and I hope you like your cards!

Pet peeves

I have pet peeves, just like everyone else, although mine are vast and unexpected.

I've been staying with someone else for the past few days and they seem to be able to every last one of my pet peeves. The main one is people who eat loudly. Why on god green earth do you find it impossible to not eat like a horse with a blocked nose? It's not hard, the majority of people I know are able to do it, why can't you?

The second of these is people who make unnecessary noises. For example, making strange noises when you yawn, grunting while you breathe, sighing pleasantly when you've had drink and constantly, constantly always 'humphing' when you breathe. STOP IT!! Stop it now!

I also hate people who point out the obvious. I can see that the sign says ladies toilets. You don't have to read it to me. I hav 20/20 vision, I can see it quite well thank you very much. You don't need to tell me every little story about your life or every little side detail that you know about why ever we happen to be watching. If I ask then tell me.

And for the love of god, never, ever try to physically push me towards something. Like getting a picture taken. If I want it taken, I'll get it taken. I'm quite capable of doing things by myself which also means that if I want a drink, I'll get off my arse and go get one. Stop offering me things ten times after I've said no once. An stop! trying to point out that all your offering goes to waste. Don't say things like 'I don't know why I bother!' I know why you bother, you're a busybody and can't leave people alone for ten minutes. Don't tell me I need to go to bed, I know when I want to, so I'll go then. Don't refer to me as 'someone like me' I am not like you, I am me, leave me to it.

Just leave me in my little world and get on with your own. JESUS!!!

Fancy schmancy

Just found a blogger app for my phone and this is the first post... I'm sure the posts that come from my phone will be no where near as 'fancy' as they are when I do them on my laptop.

I would say in excited about this new way of posting blogs but it'll probably turn into something that I'll delete in a few weeks because I don't use it at all. Doesn't mean I will stop blogging, I'll just not use my phone for it.

Still getting used to the idea of having two completely different blogs. This one is my personal blog where anything and everything usually goes, but my second, most recently created blog is supposed to be my professional blog that deals with my training to become a teacher. It's weird having to stop myself writing that blog the same way I have to write this one.... Expect I'll get used to it eventually.

So, no real point to this other than to try out the app. Bye!!!

I am not interweb - fantastic

Other than the blogs of people that I know, the only other blogs I follow are 'blogs of note' which I somehow came across and thought 'ohh that one has pictures and talks about silly things like me!' All of these blogs such as   Da Cheeseblarg and Hyperbole and a Half are amazing and quite famous in the blogosphere, and have drawings.... I do not have drawings. It's not that I want my blog to make me famous or anything, I just think some of my blogs would make people laugh and I enjoy making people laugh.

I could take the initiative and draw some pictures that could go with some of the silly stories that I sometimes like to tell people through the medium of blogging, but I don't think they'd be any good and so I'd have less people getting interested in my blog.

I'm also not going to all of a sudden change my blog into one that only focuses on one subject, or takes itself too damn serious, cos those types of blogs are just not fun for anyone and they make me sleepy to read. And I could repost and repost a link to my blog all over the interwebs but no one will read the damn thing!! So be prepared for my next few blogs to be a little different to the rest of them in some new 'make my blog gooder' way.

Post Card Campaign Take 2!

This week I came back to my flat to find a lovely little surprise waiting for me. It was my second postcard, courtesy of  The Cat and the Coffee Cup from The Great Postcard Campaign as set up by the amazing J. Day over at The Ramblings of Charlie Brown. So this is just a little bitty post to say thank you for my postcard!!

I think the idea of the campaign is wonderful! Just a simple postcard from a random person is some random part of the world to let you know that there can be more in your post box than bills and rubbish. There's no need to make them really fancy or to write bucket loads on them, just a little something to show off your part of the world cheers the other people right up!

I must say I'm really excited about my turn. I have no idea when that is going to be, but when it does come I'm going to go at it full throttle. I love making little things like that and I've been considering having a good nosey through the other participants blogs that I can find so I could personalise the postcards that I'll send out to them. :)

Really looking forward to the next one! And I'll get pics up soon!

Items of note. #2

The iPhone!

Just got one, not a new one a second or third hand one of the boyfriend but I am still as happy as a crab or whatever that saying is.  :)

I'm not totally in love with because of the name, or the fact that the camera is amazing. I love it for the QWERTY keypad, I know my old phone had this, but it just seems so much better on this thing. I also like Doodle Jump :P

I'm looking for a case for it now, because I am a useless bugger and it'll be dropped numerous times before the end of the week. Apparently cases for the 3 are hard to find, I have a back up idea anyway. I want a nice pretty one, but if not I'll settle for a plain black one. As long as it stops Clarence from dying, yes Clarence. Named by boyfriend, I only got him on the condition that his name wouldn't change. I love Clarence :)

Since getting it I've been given a tutorial on how to use it. You need to ask it nicely to turn on by shouting ON! It helps if no one is looking when you do this as it is shy. Ohh, imagine if phones had personalities that we could recognise. It'd be hilarious to hear someone say that there phone was being a bitch and actually meaning it, as if there phone was talking back. I amuse myself .

I've also been advised as to what apps I should get for it. I've got facebook, funny pics and a few newspapers so far.. Any ideas?

Items of note. #1

The item of note today is a fort! A plain, old fashioned fort made out of blankets and pillows.

This is my fort. :)

My fort is awesome for the simple fact that we made it at silly o'clock in the morning because I made a nest on the bed and the idea steamrolled from there.

The reason's for my fort being awesome are simple.
1. Made me feel like a kid again
2. Got to build a fort
3. It was cosy (especially with boyfriend in it as well)
4. It distracted us both from the terror of exams and assessments for a while

Everyone should build a fort regularly in their adult life. It makes everything so much more exciting. Example - watching a dvd in a fort seems so much cooler than watching a dvd while sitting on your bed. Doesn't it? I know you agree. Don't lie, you want a fort.

Damn you little fort.

Happy happy happy

Yes, I am very happy for some reason. It might me because at this very moment I have a gorgeous packet of awesome right beside me - that's right, custard creams :) It might also be because boyfriend let slip what's coming my way for my birthday - 2 tickets to The Making of Harry Potter at WB Studios. Or it might simply be because I don't have classes until the beginning of February.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I have no custard creams and I still have a presentation and 3 essay's to finish (read as start). I was reading  JRose's post over at the Cheeseblarg about how she terrorised boys that she liked when she was younger. I started thinking that I used to do something similar. Not the bad poetry and the freaky pretending to pee while I took stuff from their locker, but I did have an annoying habit of beating the shite out of people. Those poor people. Just like JRose, all I can say is that I am sorry if I ever beat you because it probably meant that at some point I liked you. Then, obviously, grew to hate you.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I also read the latest post from Mynx over at Dribble about toys that her kids used to have. I read it and remembered with joy, the Robodoc that I used to have and how we ended up losing almost all of the pieces. it got me thinking about other toys we used to have as kids, but for some strange reason are still kept in the shed even though there are numerous pieces missing.

Like Gooey Looey

and Buckaroo

So which toys did you love as child that didn't quite live up to the advertisement? And which ones are still collecting dust in storage?
